Tradify vs Fergus Australia 2026: Pricing and Plans Compared
Tradify and Fergus do the same job: quotes, scheduling, job cards, invoices and a sync to your accounting software. Both started in New Zealand, both connect to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, and both give you 14 days free. Where they really differ is how they charge for your team and how much of the job each plan covers.
The short version: Tradify suits service and maintenance work, where everyone on the team uses the app the same way and you want one published AUD price per person. Fergus suits project work such as renovations, fit-outs and multi-stage installs, where job phases, purchase orders and safety paperwork matter, and where some of your crew only need to clock their hours.

Tradify prices are AUD per user per month, ex GST. Fergus's in-trial checkout shows AUD per full user per month and doesn't say whether GST is included.
Pricing: two different ways to pay for a team
Tradify is simple to cost. Every person who logs in is a seat at the plan price: $48 on Lite, $52 on Pro or $62 on Plus, AUD ex GST. A team of five on Pro is $260 a month, and an apprentice costs the same as the owner. (The Tradify pricing guide has the full team-size table.)

Fergus's public pricing page only says Essentials is "from $53 per month" and Professional "from $77 per month". The checkout inside the trial is clearer: A$53 per full user on Essentials and A$77 per full user on Pro, billed monthly. On top of full users, Fergus sells two cheaper seat types: timesheet users from $26 a month for staff who only need to log time, and contractor users at $4 a day.
Inside the trial, the seat type is a setting you choose for each person. Adding a staff member asks for a user type (Full User is the default) and, separately, a permission profile: Apprentice, Contractor, Office Admin, Owner or Tradesperson. Each person also gets a pay rate and a charge-out rate. So a tradie can be a full user with tradesperson permissions, and the user type is what sets the price.

That seat model is Fergus's real advantage for some businesses. Take an electrical contractor with one person in the office running quotes and four sparkies who mostly need their timesheets. On Tradify Pro that's five full seats, $260 a month. On Fergus Pro it's one full user at $77 plus four timesheet users from $26, so from $181 a month, or from $157 on Essentials. If the crew also need job cards, photos and notes on their phones, they'll need full seats on Fergus too, and five full users on Pro is $385. Fergus doesn't say whether its prices include GST, so confirm that at checkout before you compare them with Tradify's ex GST figures.
For a sole trader the maths is closer to even: Tradify Lite at $48 or Pro at $52 against Fergus Essentials at $53 per full user, which already includes things Tradify keeps for Pro.

This is where Fergus looks better value on paper. Fergus Essentials includes job cards with files and photos, timesheets, recurring jobs, materials and price books, enquiry management, invoicing and payments, and the accounting sync.
Tradify Lite covers job management and notes, scheduling with Google Calendar sync, quoting and invoicing, pricing and markups, card payments, email tracking and the accounting sync. It doesn't include job photos and files, timesheets, job costing, recurring jobs or invoice reminders. You need Pro for those, so the fair comparison for most businesses is Tradify Pro at $52 against Fergus Essentials from $53.
What the main plans include
Tradify Pro adds photos and files, timesheets, costing and bill tracking, recurring jobs, job templates, quote options with online acceptance, progress invoicing, automatic quote and invoice reminders, subcontractor scheduling, custom branding and an enquiry inbox. Tradify's Australian plan card also lists health and safety forms and compliance certificates on Pro.
Fergus Professional adds what project work needs: job phases, purchase orders, cost tracking, GPS tracking, tasks, checklists and forms, hazards and SWMS, tiered pricing, automatic supplier integrations (Essentials is manual), a full reporting suite covering quotes, invoices, staff, business and financials, and phone support (Essentials is email and chat only).
Purchase orders are a good test of which product fits you. Tradify keeps them for Plus at $62 a user, alongside service reminders, bulk invoicing and its AI bill reading. Fergus puts them in Professional, next to job phases and supplier price feeds. If you raise purchase orders against staged jobs every week, Fergus is built around that. If your week is mostly call-outs and maintenance visits, Tradify Pro covers it and you may never need Plus.
What Fergus looks like on day one
I opened a Fergus trial on 4 November 2026. It started on the Pro plan, not Essentials, with two example jobs already loaded so there was something to click through.

The home screen is a status board that follows each job from left to right: pending, pricing, scheduling, in progress, back costing, invoicing and payments, with a dollar total under each column. That layout tells you who Fergus is built for. It assumes a job gets priced, scheduled, worked, costed against the quote and then invoiced, which is how renovation and installation work runs. Service reminders and supplier documents get their own places in the menus, and Health & Safety is one of the quick actions on the dashboard.
Safety paperwork and certificates
Both cover site safety, in different places. Fergus Professional includes hazards and SWMS (safe work method statements). Compliance certificates are a paid Fergus add-on at $30 a month for 1 to 9 staff or $80 for 10 or more. On Tradify, health and safety forms and compliance certificates are listed on the Pro plan card for Australia, with no add-on price shown. If you issue electrical or plumbing certificates every week, check exactly which certificate types each one supports for your state during the trial. Neither pricing page lists them.
Accounting software and payments
No difference worth choosing on. Fergus lists Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB on both plans. Tradify's pricing page names Xero and QuickBooks Online, and its help centre adds MYOB AccountRight. Card payments on Fergus cost 1.95% plus 30 cents a transaction. Tradify lists online and card payments on every plan but doesn't print a rate on its pricing page.
If you're still choosing the accounting side, our accounting software for tradies guide covers Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks for trade businesses.

Get matched →Which one should you pick?
Pick Tradify if your work is mostly service, repairs and maintenance, everyone on the team needs the full app, and you want a plain per-user price you can budget on. Pro at $52 a user is the plan most businesses should start on.
Pick Fergus if you run staged jobs where job phases, purchase orders, supplier price feeds and SWMS earn their keep, or if a good part of your crew only needs to log hours and can sit on timesheet seats.
Look at ServiceM8 as well if you're a small crew doing high volumes of short jobs. It charges by jobs per month with unlimited users, which beats both per-user models once you have two or more people on site. Our ServiceM8 vs Tradify comparison runs those numbers, and the best job management software for tradies guide covers the wider field, including simPRO and AroFlo.
Both trials are free, so run the same real job through each: quote it, schedule it, put photos on it, invoice it and push it to your accounting software. The one that takes fewer taps on site is usually the one your crew will actually use. Our Tradify review covers what that's like day to day on Tradify.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fergus cheaper than Tradify?
It depends on your crew. For one person, Tradify Pro is $52 a user ex GST and Fergus Essentials is $53 per full user, so they are close. Fergus also sells timesheet-only users from $26 a month, so a team where most staff only log hours can cost less on Fergus: one full user on Fergus Pro plus four timesheet users is from $181 a month, against $260 for five users on Tradify Pro. If everyone needs a full seat, Tradify works out cheaper.
Does Fergus charge per user?
Yes. The checkout inside a Fergus trial prices Essentials at A$53 and Pro at A$77 per full user, billed monthly. Staff who only log hours can be timesheet users from $26 a month, and contractor users cost $4 a day. Fergus does not say whether these prices include GST.
Do Tradify and Fergus work with MYOB?
Yes. Fergus lists Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB on both of its plans. Tradify connects to Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB AccountRight.
Which is better for project and renovation work?
Fergus. Its Professional plan includes job phases, purchase orders, tasks, checklists, hazards and SWMS, and automatic supplier price integrations. Tradify keeps purchase orders for its Plus plan at $62 a user and does not list job phases.
Do Tradify and Fergus have free trials?
Both offer 14 days free. Tradify switches on every feature during its trial. Our Fergus trial opened on the Professional plan, and Fergus says no credit card is needed.
Is Tradify or Fergus better for a sole trader?
It is close. Tradify Lite at $48 leaves out job photos and timesheets, so most sole traders end up on Pro at $52. Fergus Essentials at $53 per full user already includes photos, timesheets and recurring jobs. Run a real job through both trials and pick the one that is quicker on site.
